Quick, think of everyone you know who loves to watch baseball. I bet you didn't think of me. I am just totally not into sports. But lately that's begun changing…

My wife is much more into sports than I am. Since last year's world series she's been watching the Red Sox play practically every night on television. If I want to sit with her for dinner I pretty much have to watch baseball too, and it has been drawing me in. Believe me, no one is more surprised than I by this turn of events.

It's gotten to the point where I actually catch myself egging players on and cheering when they make great plays. I'm becoming familiar with the pitching lineup, who are the good batters and who are not, and so forth. That 15-2 game against the Blue Jays just about killed me the other night. Bizarre!

Go Sox!

  1. This from a guy who once went home from my house rather than sit and watch the last 2 innings of a baseball game with me! You bastard! Go Chuck! The Sox are fun to watch, most nights, but I won't be happy until Mark Bellhorn and Kevin Millar are on a bus out of town.

PS Just for the record, I was very high on the signing of Matt Clement in the off-season, and I predicted he'd win 14 games for the Sox this year…he's 9-2 now, so it's looking pretty good. :)
