Vanessa Returns

Well Vanessa has returned, and she looks as beautiful as ever. In fact with her freshly painted front end, she looks even better than before. I am quite relieved and happy to have her back. I can't tell you how much I missed this car. I don't think I ever stopped grinning while I was behind the wheel, once again fondly enjoying her handling and lines.

I have to say I am thoroughly pleased with the fine job done by Leblanc's Auto Repair and Sales Corp. of Fitchburg, and I would gladly recommend them to anyone. They were courteous, professional, quick, and responsive.

Shortly after I settled in behind her wheel, I popped in Dido's Life for Rent CD and played my favorite track, number seven, “Who Makes You Feel?” I love to listen to this song while tooling about in Vanessa, because, in a silly way, no one makes me feel like she makes me feel.

When we got back to the house we dropped off Pat's car and then I took the family out to the mall and dinner… any excuse to ride around. We sang “Who Makes You Feel”, “Sand in My Shoes”, and a bunch of other songs. Then we stopped at Strawberries to buy some videos with a gift card I got from my in-laws for Christmas. I walked in with a $30 gift card, and out with like $250 worth of movies. While I was voicing my consternation at this Pat said “You went shopping with two women, what did you think was going to happen?”

On the way home we listened to the HALO soundtrack. Pat and I talked about how much we liked the original HALO and how the new version, while a lot of fun, just isn't as good as the original. Ah well.

I took a number of pictures of Vanessa today… you can check them out in this album.

I'll close with the chorus from “Who Makes You Feel”…

Who makes you feel the way that I make you feel?
Who loves you, and knows you, the way I do?
Who touches you and holds you quite like I do?
Who makes you feel like I make you feel?

Christmas Gifts

Pat and Lynnea got me these PT's for Christmas.  The silver and spidey ones are “go-cars” (you pull them backward and then they take off forward).  The big one makes all sorts of various noises when you press the buttons on top, and also drives across the floor forward and in reverse.

When you push the starting button you hear the engine revving and then a corny announcer voice declares “Welcome PT Cruiser operator!”  Yeesh!
