On Saturday I went strolling in Somerset. We were in town visiting with Patty's sister Barbara for the holiday, and the kids were getting ready to do an egg hunt. I needed my 4000 steps so I decided to go for a nice walk.
I walked my butt off. Later in the day, Pat's father wanted to go for a walk so I walked a second time, for more than an hour. In the end I walked over 10,000 aerobic steps. Boy was I beat!!!

So Pat and I had to prepare eggs for the easter egg hunt at her sister Barbara's house on Saturday. Step one was of course, to go up into the attic, and find the basket from last year with all the empty plastic eggs in it. It was then we made a grisly discovery–one of the eggs had never been opened last Easter…
That's right, for a year, the egg sat in the basket, in my attic… baking through the summer and freezing in the winter, with its contents slowy deforming to fit the shape of the shell.
So with some trepidation, Pat and I cracked the egg open. It contained a piece of strawberry Laffy Taffy, a small Snickers “Cruncher” Bar, and twenty five cents.
We were set to dump it and pocket the money when I was reminded of my zany friend James, who enjoys eating old unrefrigerated yogurt and other things many people wouldn't even think of eating.
So instead I stuck it into my desk to save for James. Will he crack the ancient egg and eat its petrified payload? Or will a desire to survive to see another Easter stop him?
Whaddya say, James? There's 25 cents in it for ya…
