From Hastert blames Democrats, ABC News (MarketWatch.com)
…”Our members are supportive. I think that [resignation] is exactly what our opponents would like to have happen — that I'd fold my tent and others would fold our tent and they would sweep the House,” Hastert said…
Ladies and germs there you have it. When it comes to dirty e-mails to teenage boys, Hastert's not folding his tent. He's pitching a tent. The party of dignity demonstates (as usual) that it isn't morality or integrity that matters, it's simply red or blue. You'd have to be a complete tool not to realize that the party that is now trying to “blame the Democrats” for “fanning the controversy” is the same one that tried to impeach a standing president over his trysts with Monica Lewinksi. It wasn't the Democrats who wanted the sordid Starr report to be published on the internet.
So you'll have to forgive me if this holier-than-thou attitude does little to impress me.
From Hastert blames Democrats, ABC News (MarketWatch.com)
…[Republican Rep (NY) Tom] Reynolds' chief of staff, Kirk Fordham, resigned Wednesday amid the ongoing scandal, telling news organizations that he had warned top staffers in Hastert's office about Foley's behavior toward pages three years ago. Fordham had previously served as Foley's top aide.Hastert's chief of staff, Scott Palmer, issued a one-sentence denial Wednesday night: “What Kirk Fordham said did not happen,”…
This senior republican staffer was upset enough about it to quit, but it never happened? Riiiiiight. We know who's REALLY responsible for this, don't we? Wait for it…
From Hastert blames Democrats, ABC News (MarketWatch.com)
…Hastert said he was confident the party's conservative base would come around to support Republican candidates on Election Day. “I think the base has to realize after awhile, who knew about it? Who knew what, when? When the base finds out who's feeding this monster, they're not going to be happy. The people who want to see this thing blow up are ABC News and a lot of Democratic operatives, people funded by George Soros,” Hastert said…
I'm sorry, I was laughing so hard I just choked a french fry up into my nasal cavity. ABC News is out to get Dennis Hastert. George Soros told Hastert to ignore Foley's misbehavior. The pages who received the e-mails are actually Democrats who came onto Foley. They were asking for it.
Dear Republican swine, please take your self-righteousness and your cries of “victim”, butter them up, and reinsert them into your anuses. Thanks. Love Always, Chuck.
It's a vast left-wing conspiracy!!!!
Chuck – encourage the Republicans. The crazier they sound, the more voters they'll alienate.
First of all, not ALL of us Republicans are swine or crazy, well, we're not all swine anyway.
Hastert and anyone who knew about this sick predator's behavior need to go, but there are precious few politicians who have the stones to do what's right, no matter how hard it is.
It's a good thing that politicians don't have real jobs, there aren't a dozen of them that would swing it in the real world.
Tom
Firstly “Republican swine” was addressed to those swine who happen to be republican, they know who they are, and not all republicans. And secondly, by my estimation you're not a republican, Tom. You are much closer to the Libertarian party in your political beliefs, inasmuch as I have seen of them.
Other than the drug part, maybe. But I'll NEVER get past that, I've seen firsthand what drugs do to people.
Tom
Well IMHO Libertarianism is self-contradictory anyway. Most Libertarians I've talked to make special exceptions for whatever is important to them in particular which kind of flies in the face of what libertarianism theoretically stands for. So if you are for the war on drugs, but in most other respects align yourself with Libertarianism, calling yourself a Libertarian wouldn't be a stretch. But hey, call yourself whatever you want, and I'd still love ya anyway. A rose by any other name and all that.
You're a good man Charlie Brown, er, Seggelin.
