I left out Wolfowitz, even though it is largely he who is responsible for the disaster in Iraq. These days he's enjoying his job at the World Bank and paying attention to just about anything but his mess in Iraq.
And while Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld* have had their misguided attentions glued to Iraq, North Korea went and detonated a nuclear bomb. Way to go guys. I think we found the weapons of mass destruction…
From N Korea claims nuclear test (BBC News):
North Korea says it has carried out its first ever test of a nuclear weapon, the state news agency has reported. It said the underground test, done in defiance of international warnings, was a success and had not resulted in any leak of radiation.
A South Korean official said an explosion had been detected in the north-east of North Korea, measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale…
…South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun has called an emergency meeting of his government's National Security Council.
A South Korean official said that there had been a grave change in the security situation on the peninsula…
Yep, our actions in Iraq sure are making us safer. So nice to know a big chunk of our army is tangled up in that mess while North Korea is setting off nukes. Feel safer yet?
South Korea… do they have oil? Is that even *on* the map?

An insightful bit of analysis on NPR this morning reminded me that President Bush's “Axis of Evil” speech followed by the invasion of Iraq probably made North Korea more determined to acquire a nuclear weapon to prevent the U.S. from invading their country. Nice job, George.
Hey, but it got Bush elected, so it was worth it!
North Korea has been attempting to acquire Nukes since WAY back when it “agreed” to a treaty with President Clinton, and then proceeded to break EVERY tenet of the agreement.
I don't believe for a minute that us going into Iraq was the trigger that made them go for Nukes, they've been working on that program for a LONG time.
Don't get me wrong, Bush has bolloxed up a ton of shit, but you can't lay this solely at his feet.
